Greg has fought for seniors in Calgary-Elbow from the day he became MLA. He regularly visits the many seniors homes in Elbow, and works hard to ensure seniors who choose to stay in the own homes have the supports they need.
In January of this year, Greg held a dedicated Seniors Town Hall meeting where he provided information on seniors resources in the community, including financial supports available from the provincial government. The event was very well attended and Greg received very good feedback, including many requests to hold similar Town Hall meetings in the future.
Greg has pushed back on the NDP for their inaction on dementia care, and advocated for a comprehensive dementia strategy that will help people living with dementia, their loved ones and caregivers. The numbers of people living with dementia are increasing as our population ages, but this isn’t just about numbers, it’s about people. I have asked more questions in the Legislature about dementia than any other issue with the possible exception of pipelines. There is no question we need to do better, and if I am re-elected as your MLA I will keep fighting for better dementia care.
I will push to make sure the government understands the need to focus on the needs of the individuals, not on the needs of “the system.” This will ensure all Albertans are treated with respect, dignity and professionalism.
